2005 - Salt Lake City

Stayed at: "Interlodged" at The Inn at Snowbird

Conditions:

Day 1 - Snow.
Day 2 - Snow - Got to Mineral Basin.
Day 3 - Snow. Epic Conditions.
Day 4 - Snow (eventually).

This was it. A trip planned at the last minute based on the forecast. It snowed for 10 straight days before we got there and didn't stop till after we left. We had endless runs of untracked deep powder as they opened new areas throughout the day. Even so, there was much closed due to avalanche danger, but no complaints from us. On the 1st and last days, the mountain didn't even open on time as they were doing avalanche control work, and there were some serious windy/wintry conditions. New word of the trip: Gropple (mini-hail type snow) - felt like the mainmade stuff from the East to ski in. Best move of the trip: Staying at the mountain, as the canyon road was closed every night & we were interlodged (i.e. can't leave the building).

Here's the snowfall data - we arrived on the 7th & left on the 11th:
