2012 - Aspen/Snowmass

A new area in 2012: Aspen/Snowmass We stayed at Stonebridge Condo, right on Snowmass and had what we proclaimed as a "10" day. It had snowed a foot two days prior, then about 5" overnight Wednesday, and dumped all day Thursday. Nice, light powder and we had the mountain to ourselves. Continued to snow on & off for two more days, and on the last day we had a sunny, warm typical Colorado March day. We skied 3 days at Snowmass which is a really great mountain. Another highlight was the hike up to Highlands bowl - short cat ride, then 800' vertical up to the peak through a howling wind. Dropping into the bowl was nice, with lots of untracked powder.

Interesting stories getting out there - Mark was already there for a family trip, with an "impending snowstorm" in Boston, Jon flew out early (and his planned flight was cancelled anyway), and Fink had his usual 3 flight expedition.
